The Facebook UI Template is an After Effects template that allows you to perfectly recreate Facebook’s UI inside of After Effects and animate any Facebook post.
Open the PROFILE PIC comp. Import your image and drag it to the composition. Scale the image up to fit the comp. Back in the main FACEBOOK POST comp, the image will automatically include a circular mask.
You can toggle on/off the green online indicator next to the profile picture (CONTROL > Controls > Online).
In the main FACEBOOK POST comp you can edit the following text layers:
*If the post text takes up multiple rows of text, set the Text Rows to the number of rows
(CONTROL > Controls > Text Rows). If you want to exclude the post text all together, you can set Text Rows to 0.
Open the MEDIA comp. Import your image or video and drag it to the composition. Scale the layer to fit the width of the comp, then position it to align with the top of the comp. It is okay if there is blank space beneath.
Back in the FACEBOOK POST comp, make sure the Include Media checkbox is toggled on (CONTROL > Controls > Include Media).
Next, on the MEDIA layer, adjust the Media Height slider to set the desired height of your media.
Unlike the text layers, the Facebook stats are controlled via sliders. This makes it easier to keyframe and animate, while keeping the numbers inline with Facebook’s formatting (i.e. “1.4K Comments”).
On the CONTROL layer, under the Controls effect, set the stats for the following:
You can also hide the stats altogether by toggling on the Hide Stats checkbox.
Under the Reactions dropdown you can toggle on/off each individual reaction icon:
On the CONTROL layer, under the Controls effect, you can make several adjustments to the appearance.
Vertically centers the Tweet inside the comp. This automatically adjusts based on the Tweet height and visibility of stats and interaction buttons.
This selection will change the icon next the DATE text. Here are the options:
When toggled on, the interaction buttons (Like, Comment, Share) will be visible.
When toggled on, only the Like and Comment buttons will be shown.
When toggled on, the Like icon will turn blue.
The pre-made animation comps are an easy way to add a transition in & out to the Facebook post. The timing of the animation can be adjusted for each by changing the Animation slider keyframes on the CONTROL layer within each animation.
When using the animation comps, we recommend turning on Auto-center in the FACEBOOK POST comp.
You can also resize any of the comps and scale up the CONTROL layer to make the Facebook post appear any size you want.
